Celebrate Pi Day in Orange County with Free Pie!

By

March 14th officially marks the day sanctioned by Congress as Pi Day, simply because 3, 1 and 4 are the first 3 digits in the infinitely long calculation. Pi, a Greek letter, is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Whether the thought of calculating Pi gets you excited, or you just like to eat Pie, there is something for everyone at the various Pi Day celebrations around Orange County.

The biggest Pi Day event in OC is held at the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, and includes learning stations, hands-on exhibits, and of course pie! Pizzas from California Pizza Kitchen and pies from Polly's pies will be on hand for attendees to enjoy. Admission to the museum is required to participate.

Morton's Steakhouse is offering their famous Key Lime Pie for only $3.14 per slice, a savings of over $7. Adding to the equation on March 14th, Marie Callendar's Restaurants are offering a free slice of pie with purchase of entree.

The Discovery Science Center is located at 2500 North Main Street in Santa Ana. The center is open daily from 10am to 5pm Monday through Saturday, and 11am to 5pm Sundays, and is closed only on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. For directions and more information, or to purchase advance tickets online, visit www.discoverycube.org.
